Okay computer people

Meg
Someone please tell me how to avoid an 80080005 error when I try to backup my computer using Vista's Backup and Restore Center, since apparently it's $59.00 to ask Microsoft for help. I'm talking a Complete PC Backup and Restore Image; I'm backing up files just fine right now.

EDIT: According to Dell: "I have researched on the error message which you are getting with your system. The error is caused by a bug in Windows Vista file and Microsoft currently does not have a fix for the same."

Greeeat.

Try asking this on Yahoo Answers. I get pretty good computer advice on there.

I didn't have that error [or any other error] when I backed up my Vista. Dunno what it means.

Won't do me any good. I talked to Dell and apparently Microsoft doesn't have a fix for it yet...

Vista's backup services aren't very good. Is there any reason you aren't just copying stuff off to an external?

(I doubt there's anything not in your user directory you need anyway.)

Whoops. That was me.

Yeah I ended up backing up my files to an external, but it just kinda sucks that something doesn't work after the reinstallation that worked before. Oh well, they'll deal with it or they won't. I actually have some updates they want me to do so maybe something important is in there, though I doubt it'll fix the problem. I don't know.

Honestly? First bug I've encountered. My computer was acting wonky before I reinstalled but that was probably something I did and not Vista. I think it had something to do with Symantec, but that's a different story. All these people who complain about Vista, I don't get them. I don't really have any problems with it.

That's probably because they're dumbasses and screw with the settings too much. If you leave it alone it's not a problem. It's when you try and make it do something it's not supposed to do that it does that. That and not updating the thing.
